Well, I worked at a rock quarry called Cobra Stone in Florence, TX. They just opened up a rock yard in Granbury, TX. It was such a pretty day on Friday the 23 of January that I decided to ride my bike up to Granbury (180 mile ride there). I get up to the rock yard cause I have to do the networking for the computers at this brand new location. There aren't any customers yet since it just opened up about a week ago. The only people there are me, a sales rep who is inside of the office the whole time, the secretary who is inside of the office all day as well, and the owner and his brother who are in and out all day. I get done wiring up the computers and the phone lines and before I take the 180 mile ride back I have to stop at Staples to return some stuff I didn't need. when I got to my bike I noticed that my helmet which was on my seat is now on a landscaping boulder next to my bike. Well i didn't think much of it. I rode to staples and just happen to look at my gas tank and noticed a glob of mud.. What the hell, so I wiped off the glob of mud and saw scratches on the gas tank. Needless to say my blood boiled seeing how I have only made 4 payments to this brand new ZX10-R. I parked the bike at staples and further examined it at staples and saw scratches on the Right Fairing, the right mirror, the nose, and scratches on the brand new two brothers carbon fiber muffler I just installed. Being furious I called the owner and asked him if dropped my bike. He said no. He sais that he sat on my bike putting my helmet on the landscaping boulder but he didn't drop my bike. He was next to his brother and told me maybe his brother did. so he passed the phone to his brother and his brother said no as well. His brother told me that he ran a water hose by the bike to water the new trees they just planted. So I drove back to the rock yard and they weren't there. I waited for them to get back and when they did they both wouldn't even look at my bike, I walked up to them and asked them again, which one of you dropped my bike. They both denied it. The Owner of the place goes to my bike and said what scratches, They are not bad, you can't even see them (the scratches aren't too bad). He told me that I am making a big deal out of nothing. Of course I told him Bullshit. Well i had just noticed the rear fairing pulled apart and no scratches on it. That tell me that they were both out there when it happened cause when a bike falls over you pick it up by the handle bars, but if two people were out there then one grabs the handle bars and the other grabs the rear, in this case they grabbed the rear fairing not knowing how to lift it properly. He told me that that was enough and he didn't want to hear about it any more. End of discussion. Of course I told him , OK well I will make sure of that and gave him back his company phone. So I quit.
It just sucks that they were covering up for each other, of course, they are brothers. If they would have been men about it and not pussies about it and told me, I would have been pissed at first and I would have calmed down cause the scratched aren't too bad at all. Its the principle and point behind this matter. How do you work for someone who lies to you like that. Even after the millions this man has, he is too cheap to pay for something he did. After all he did admit to sitting on my bike with out my permission.
I saw this and thought that we could all benifit from it. It is called magic Jack. You plug it into your pc and it allows you to make calls throughout the country for free. You can plug multiple jacks into one pc or multiple jacks into different pc's for extra lines. It looks like it is $40.00 for the jack for the first year and then $20.00 each additional year. The url is below.

Wow, what a year it has been. So much was acomplished this year and yet I feel like nothing was accomplished at all. To all my Texas buddies, I hope to have a chance to meet up with you this year In the R.O.T (Republic of Texas) Rally this year. I'm just like most of you and live pay check to pay check. I know now that the economy is on a downward spiral and the rally wont be as filled as it has been in the past. But if you do find yourself there in 2009, maybe we can all meet up in one of the many bars that Austin has to offer.
Although 2008 is coming to an end, 2009 it the latest chapter in our saga that has yet to be written. What things will I do this year, What will I be thinking about when 2009 comes to an end. I encourage you all to take a camera with you in your journey this year and share a bit of your world with the rest of the biker community. Now I have spent some time looking at all of your photos and I have had a chance to chat with a lot of you. Maybe in 2009 I will have a chance to drink a beer or two with you and share some stories. Who knows, But I do know that no matter what happens in 2009, I am shooting for the stars and I will show you my journey as I hope you will show us yours.
David Letterman wrote this; it's the David we don't often see....
'As most of you know I am not a President Bush fan, nor have I ever been, but this is not about Bush, it is about us, as Americans, and it seems to hit the mark.'
'The other day I was reading Newsweek magazine and came across some Poll data I found rather hard to believe. It must be true given the source, right?
The Newsweek poll alleges that 67 percent of Americans are unhappy with the direction the country is headed and 69 percent of the country is unhappy with the performance of the President. In essence 2/3 of the citizenry just ain't happy and want a change. So being the knuckle dragger I am, I started thinking, 'What are we so unhappy about?'
A. Is it that we have electricity and running water 24 hours a day, 7 Days a week?
B. Is our unhappiness the result of having air conditioning in the summer and heating in the winter?
C. Could it be that 95.4 percent of these unhappy folks have a job?
D. Maybe it is the ability to walk into a grocery store at any time and see more food in moments than Darfur has seen in the last year?
E. Maybe it is the ability to drive our cars and trucks from the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic Ocean without having to present identification papers as we move through each state.
F. Or possibly the hundreds of clean and safe motels we would find along the way that can provide temporary shelter?
G. I guess having thousands of restaurants with varying cuisine from around the world is just not good enough either.
H. Or could it be that when we wreck our car, emergency workers show up and provide services to help all and even send a helicopter to take you to the hospital.
I. Perhaps you are one of the 70 percent of Americans who own a home.
J. You may be upset with knowing that in the unfortunate case of a fire, a group of trained firefighters will appear in moments and use top notch equipment to extinguish the flames thus saving you, your family, and your belongings.
K. Or if, while at home watching one of your many flat screen TVs, a burglar or prowler intrudes, an officer equipped with a gun and a bullet-proof vest will come to defend you and your family against attack or loss.
L. This all in the backdrop of a neighborhood free of bombs or militias raping and pillaging the residents. Neighborhoods where 90% of teenagers own cell phones and computers.
M. How about the complete religious, social and political freedoms we enjoy that are the envy of everyone in the world?
Maybe that is what has 67% of you folks unhappy.
Fact is, we are the largest group of ungrateful, spoiled brats the world has ever seen. No wonder the world loves the U.S. , yet has a great disdain for its citizens. They see us for what we are. The most blessed people in the world who do nothing but complain about what we don't have, and what we hate about the country instead of thanking the good Lord we live here.
I know, I know. What about the president who took us into war and has no plan to get us out? The president who has a measly 31 percent approval rating? Is this the same president who guided the nation in the dark days after 9/11? The president that cut taxes to bring an economy out of recession? Could this be the same guy who has been called every name in the book for succeeding in keeping all the spoiled ungrateful brats safe from terrorist attacks? The commander in chief of an all-volunteer army that is out there defending you and me?
Did you hear how bad the President is on the news or talk show? Did this news affect you so much, make you so unhappy you couldn't take a look around for yourself and see all the good things and be glad? Think about it.......are you upset at the President because he actually caused you personal pain OR is it because the 'Media' told you he was failing to kiss your sorry ungrateful behind every day.
Make no mistake about it. The troops in Iraq and Afghanistan have volunteered to serve, and in many cases may have died for your freedom. There is currently no draft in this country. They didn't have to go. They are able to refuse to go and end up with either a ''general'' discharge, an 'other than honorable'' discharge or, worst case scenario, a ''dishonorable' discharge after a few days in the brig.
So why then the flat-out discontentment in the minds of 69 percent of Americans?
Say what you want, but I blame it on the media. If it bleeds it leads and they specialize in bad news. Everybody will watch a car crash with blood and guts. How many will watch kids selling lemonade at the corner? The media knows this and media outlets are for-profit corporations. They offer what sells, and when criticized, try to defend their actions by 'justifying' them in one way or another. Just ask why they tried to allow a murderer like O.J.. Simpson to write a book about how he didn't kill his wife, but if he did he would have done it
this way......Insane!
Turn off the TV, burn Newsweek, and use the New York Times for the bottom of your bird cage. Then start being grateful for all we have as a country. There is exponentially more good than bad. We are among the most blessed people on Earth and should thank God several times a day, or at least be thankful and appreciative.' 'With hurricanes, tornados, fires out of control, mud slides, flooding, severe thunderstorms tearing up the country from one end to another, and with the threat of bird flu and terrorist attacks, 'Are we sure this is a good time to take God out of the Pledge of Allegiance?'
-David Letterman
Ok, for all you Harley - Davidson buffs, I am really torn between the new Softail Rocker or the Victory Vegas Jackpot. I really like the rocker but it only comes as a single rider, No Rear Seat. Now the Vegas Jackpot is hot. Man o man is that bike hot. I just don't know enough about the two. Both Bikes are appealing, I almost would rather have the one that would haul some a$$.
I also thought about the sportbike route.. I had a hayabusa not too long ago. I am really fond of the new gsxr 750 or even gsrx 1000. but coming from a Busa I am very intrigued with the new Kawasaki XZ14. Hmmm. The one that got away (from my busa of course). Can you go back to a cruiser after a Busa? HMM. I did have a VTX 1800 for a couple of years before I got the Busa. The VTX was a fast cruiser but I almost think that I am Addicted to the Crazy get up and go. By the way, Has anybody ridden one of the new CBR's. Just curious. How does the CBR hold up to the GSXR's and the Ninja's.
